The prosecution has argued that Hernandez shot the men in a fit of rage after Abreu allegedly danced into Hernandez in a nightclub and spilled his drink on the football star.

A man who went clubbing with Aaron Hernandez in Florida the night Hernandez allegedly shot a friend to silence him about a double killing returns to the witness stand Tuesday.

Hernandez's brother, Jonathan "DJ" Hernandez, was originally expected to testify Tuesday.

Thompson and Hernandez were teammates at Florida in 2008 and 2009 before Hernandez was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2010.

"My memory wasn't really clear", Crawford said on Tuesday.

'Now you sure once I withdraw this lawsuit I wont be held on perjury after I tell the truth about me not recalling anything about who shot me, ' Bradley asked Robert Pickering.

Crawford, who said he was in the vehicle on the night Bradley was shot, claimed he was dropped off at a home while Bradley was still in the auto.

So his father drove him to the home of the girlfriend of Je'rrelle Pierre, the driver of the SUV, so he could pick up the device, Crawford testified.

Bradley added, "I was trying to figure out how I could testify without getting [Hernandez] criminally [charged]".

Crawford previously told a grand jury that he fell asleep during the ride back to West Palm Beach.

Thompson said he and Hernandez spent a lot of time hanging out during their three years together at Florida, and they remained friendly but rarely saw each other once they were both in the NFL. The state has announced that it will not call him to the stand, but Aaron Hernandez's fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, may testify.

Hernandez and Bradley had arrived in Florida on February 8 to attend a Super Bowl victory party hosted by Deonte Thompson, then a wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens. He is already serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.
