Another shocking incident of hit and run took place in the national capital on Sunday where a speeding auto hit a 17-year-old boy named Atul Arora who was riding a scooter.

They added that the boy suffered grievous injuries to his head and was rushed to nearest hospital but was declared dead. The speeding Mercedes lost control near G Block and rammed into the scooter. The driver of the auto fled from the spot immediately after the incident.

The boy's family quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the scooter was dragged for about 100 metres by the vehicle before it sped away. All the CCTV cameras near the area are being scanned in order to extract clues to find the suspect and bring justice to the victim.

The deceased used to stay with his family in Paschim Vihar. His mother, Sangeeta Arora, is a teacher and he has two elder sisters - Ruchi and Archana. "We had planned a trip out of the city to celebrate that as well as his Class 11 result", his grandmother told IANS.
