Ahead of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to India, Modi said India was a "strong partner and a good friend" and both countries would "continue to work together to contribute towards peace, security and development" of the entire region.
Today's Bangladesh's independence day, they were led by Bangabandhu. Welcoming the guests on the occasion, Mr Naidu said, "Ugadi was the beginning of New Year as per Indian calendar".

In his radio address, he also thanked the people of the country for participating in digital payment Digidhan movement.
"Year 2022 will be India's 75th year of independence; let's all remember Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev".
India has extended support to the movement towards digital transactions.
He added that after the November 8 demonetisation of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes, there had been a huge increase in digital transactions. Gayatri recorded an audio clip of her and sent it on the number mentioned to the Prime Minister's radio address "Mann ki Baat". "You can't imagine how you can serve the country in this way and become a courageous soldier in the fight against black money and corruption", Modi said.
Modi also paid tributes to martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, reminded people about the vast enterprise and organisational skills of Mahatma Gandhi.

New India has repeatedly been a theme in the Prime Minister's recent speeches - the year 2022 had been presented as a milestone by which time it could be achieved.
