With the general release of the Creators Update on Xbox One, Snap mode is officially gone without a proper, full replacement in place. The centrality of Beam to this new Xbox experience seems like it could be more of a distraction for a large number of users, but otherwise these changes feel like a clear win.
Beam is a live streaming service that was acquired by Microsoft along with the name a year ago, by an unknown number. This is no doubt helped by the removal of the Now Playing window. There's more about it in the copy and pasted blather below.
The long awaited update for the Xbox One dashboard drops today.
The operating system will also see a few changes. Games will have smaller icons with more options that will push users deeper into the community surrounding the game, in addition to this, it will allow users to interact with their club Club or find Looking for Group posts, view Achievements and more.

The Guide screen has also been refined and is now accessed with a single press of the Xbox button, rather than two. The first page of the Guide is designed will prioritize Games and Apps, Home, Store, recently launched applications, the latest Games and Deals with Gold for Xbox Live Gold members, and top Pins.
A Windows 10 feature has made its way to the Xbox One, allowing parents to set daily time allowance and limits for children using the Xbox One.More news: ICICI Bank partners Truecaller for UPI-based mobile payment
Similarly, the pop-up Guide overlay has been overhauled to put key features more easily in reach.
Cortana will also appear as an overlay on the screen, allowing users to set reminders and alarms, access Party controls, and play music with simple voice controls.
Beforehand, tracking achievements and initiating other tasks was quite cumbersome on Xbox One. Beam broadcasting is built right into your Xbox One. That's why, starting today, you can stream your gameplay through the Beam app. Once you start streaming, Beam makes it easy to connect and engage with your viewers no matter where they are.
A new Beam viewing app can be found in My Games and Apps.
Enabling Xbox One to be more accessible for everyone: We felt it was important to enable Xbox One to make gaming experiences more accessible.
The most notable is the Co-pilot feature that enables cooperative play using the same controller. And as with all previously Dashboard updates, Microsoft claims it has made various performance improvements, though I think most of the improvements are really related to UI efficiencies.
