Record Store Day launched in the United Kingdom in 2008 and is the one day of the year when over 200 independent record shops all across the United Kingdom come together to celebrate their unique culture. To celebrate this unique sound, Green Tangerine Records, 866 W. Lincoln Highway, is hosting a day of music Saturday. Typically Record Store Day falls annually on the third Saturday of April, but was altered in 2017 due to the Easter Holiday weekend. "I think Record Store Day is a cool celebration of that". "Creating a vinyl album has a lot of steps: graphics, layouts, pressing tests to make sure it sounds just right; it's a lot of work, but a lot of fun".
RPM's co-managing director Gregg Miszkowski said: "We didn't really know what to expect because it's our first Record Store Day event, but we were flabbergasted when we arrived this morning to see so many people queueing outside".
"Record Store Day is always a great event, though it's very tiring as we don't manage to get much sleep the night before". All stores might not order all releases, and all stores may not get everything they order, so get out early if you're looking for something in particular.

Metal, punk and rock vinyl is available at Evil Eye Records which is located next to Major Tom's Social bar on The Ginnel in Harrogate. Bay City's only record store, Electric Kitsch, will open at 10am for Record Store Day, April 22.
