Laverne will be live from Vinyl Tap on John William Street with exclusive releases, live music, interviews and a Prince inspired all-vinyl Desert Island Disco.

Record Store Day launched in the United Kingdom in 2008 and is the one day of the year when over 200 independent record shops all across the United Kingdom come together to celebrate their unique culture. To celebrate this unique sound, Green Tangerine Records, 866 W. Lincoln Highway, is hosting a day of music Saturday. Typically Record Store Day falls annually on the third Saturday of April, but was altered in 2017 due to the Easter Holiday weekend. "I think Record Store Day is a cool celebration of that". "Creating a vinyl album has a lot of steps: graphics, layouts, pressing tests to make sure it sounds just right; it's a lot of work, but a lot of fun".

RPM's co-managing director Gregg Miszkowski said: "We didn't really know what to expect because it's our first Record Store Day event, but we were flabbergasted when we arrived this morning to see so many people queueing outside".

"Record Store Day is always a great event, though it's very tiring as we don't manage to get much sleep the night before". All stores might not order all releases, and all stores may not get everything they order, so get out early if you're looking for something in particular.

Denver- Twist & Shout: If you happen to end up in Denver, check out this huge record store with plenty of character. "People all over the country are sitting up and taking notice of Dundalk's music scene and we here at Classified Records are extremely proud to be able to keep the momentum going", said Neil.

Metal, punk and rock vinyl is available at Evil Eye Records which is located next to Major Tom's Social bar on The Ginnel in Harrogate. "The day is a way to show people - collectors or otherwise - that these small stores are still out there and that they have plenty offer collectors and casual listeners".

Prices for most new releases range from $20 to $30.

In addition to offering many exclusive Record Store Day releases, Matone has assembled a variety of merchandise for customers to peruse.

Bay City's only record store, Electric Kitsch, will open at 10am for Record Store Day, April 22.

Remember when people use to turn to their record player to enjoy music?

"Record sales have been on the rise for at least five years now", Brewer said. For instance, the record could only be sold on Record Store Day.
