Pop icon Taylor Swift is doing her bit for history - the star's bid to have her home officially awarded landmark status has been successful.

While we're sure that plenty of Taylor Swift's fans would love for her to return to her roots and release an all country album, there's no denying that it's pop music that has launched her career into the stratosphere.

"She comes here to get away from the paparazzi", an eyewitness suggested to ET.

The person shared: "Taylor [Swift] is loving her break from social media. She enjoys being connected with her fans but she also struggles with the negativity and bullies that she deals with whenever she reads Instagram comments". The "Blank Space" singer had been regularly posting since before the last photo she had put up on her account. But since then, Swift has truly retreated from the public eye and news cycle that she dominated previous year (highlights: the Calvin Harris breakup, Hiddleswift from start to finish, the Kimye feud, etc.).

The only thing is that the versatile songstress hasn't yet figured out her sound.

Swift's months-long absence really shouldn't come as much of a surprise, considering the fact that she was very upfront with her decision to not tour or perform throughout 2017 when she played the DirecTV Now Super Saturday Night pre-Super Bowl concert two months ago. The singer was apparently adamant that she won't be touring this year but did not specify a reason at that time, New York Daily News reports.

However, the source did note that Swift's next big album is expected to drop by the end of the year. However, there is no confirmation or announcement yet.

If you listen to the wind howl, ever so slightly, you'll hear it whisper "Wherever did Taylor Swift go?"
