The actress has asserted that is quite content with the way her career has shaped up so far in 11 year of her journey in Bollywood.
"It is not the same film which Ketan Mehta was going to direct. Ketan Mehta and A V Shankar are a different team".
Speaking to Mirror from Varanasi, Kangana explained the choice of location saying Manikarnika, popularly known as Rani Lakshmibai, was born in Varanasi so they made a decision to kick off the film there with the announcement of the release date, April 27, 2018. Reportedly the actress took over the project without Ketan.

Manikarnika is presented by Zee Studios, produced by Kamal Jain on Kairos Kontent Studios banner. But both the films were offered to me.
