Comey, who wore a blue suit, tried to blend in with the blue curtains in the room, only to have to cross the room in front of a crowd to greet Trump, who went in for a hug after the Federal Bureau of Investigation director extended his hand. In a slight-of-hand trick, Trump pulled him into an embrace before he could do anything.

The fake Trump approached Clinton with his arms wide open, inviting a hug from the former secretary of state. In an interview conducted via email on Friday, Reines said Clinton strategists didn't necessarily think Trump would try to hug Clinton, per se, but might attempt to differentiate himself from Clinton visually.
In the video, she is seen avoiding his hug by reaching out and shaking his hand.

In fact, during Trump's campaign he stated, "If I win, I am going to instruct my Attorney General to get a special prosecutor to look into your (Hillary Clinton) situation because there has never been so many lies, so much deception".
A 2016 debate-prep video has surfaced showing Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton jokingly practicing how to avoid hugs from then-Republican nominee Donald Trump.
