Asked if delivering the FA Cup would be a ideal way to say goodbye having been at the club for almost 21 years, Wenger replied: "There is no flawless way". File: Arsenal's French manager Arsene Wenger reacts to their first goal on the touchline during the English FA Cup final football match between Arsenal and Chelsea at Wembley stadium in London on May 27, 2017.
"I think this season has been hurt by some dip in March and I am convinced now, having looked back again at the season, we were hurt by the uncertainty about my future with the players", Wenger said.

Arsenal produced their best performance for years and Mertesacker said that the high level the team reached was testament to Wenger's continued management of the club.
Wenger added: "Once the game starts and you are a fan, you stand behind the team, that is what I have not accepted this season and I will never accept it".
"I didn't fear the worst, not at all", he told Arsenal's website.
Now, the manager says the saga is nearing its conclusion and, now that he has led Arsenal to the FA Cup trophy, he has the proof of his commitment to remain at the club.
"Otherwise, it is total incompetence from the board to get to this stage". Go somewhere and make a lame joke about his "turning circle" for all I care.
Surely a Board that is so prudent financially would not have let it go this far unless they had inside knowledge of the outcome?
