Germany take on Mexico on Thursday in the other semi-final ahead of the competition's conclusion on Sunday.

Germany are on course to meet European champions Portugal, spearheaded by Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo, who has two goals to his name in his three tournament outings thus far.

Chile, one of the pre-tournament favourites, take on Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal on Wednesday for a place in the final against either Germany or Mexico.

As Portugal beat New Zealand 4-0 to reach the semi-finals of the competition, Silva scored his team's second goal.

"In our Dugout page fans will have the opportunity to see exclusive behind the scenes content from our teams including the best footballer in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, the best futsal player in the world, Ricardinho, and the best beach soccer player in the world, Madjer".

Portugal captain Ronaldo has, unsurprisingly, been his country's inspiration in the tournament in Russian Federation so far, scoring twice and grabbing one assist in their three group games.

And Vidal, who last encountered Ronaldo in the semifinal of last season's Champions League, will go head-to-head again with the four-time Ballon d'Or victor come Wednesday.

Ronaldo enjoyed another successful season in terms of trophies as he helped Real Madrid to retain the Champions League and win the Liga title. "For me he does not exist", he said.

Chile, who won the Copa America in both 2015 and 2016, will present Portugal with their toughest test so far in Russian Federation, but the South Americans have yet to beat Portugal in three attempts, with two defeats and a draw.

Commenting on Ronaldo, Vidal said, "Ronaldo is a smart ass!"

Man City new boy Bernardo Silva may miss out after hurting his ankle in the act of scoring against New Zealand in the group stages.

Pizzi rested some starters against Australia, but Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez and Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal played the full 90 minutes.
