Real became the first team to win back-to-back Champions League titles in the tournaments history in getting their hands on the trophy for a third time in four years.

Back home at the Santiago Bernabeu, Ronaldo took centre stage as he sung about his own candidacy for the Ballon d'Or, which he claimed ahead of Barcelona foe and five-time victor Lionel Messi previous year.

The match is set to take place on August 8, four days before the 2017/18 Premier League season is due to kick off.

Thanks to Madrid's majestic demolition of the Italian champions at the Principality Stadium, Zidane is the first manager to win successive European Cups since AC Milan's Arrigo Sacchi in 1989 and 1990.

CRISTIANO RONALDO is still in party-mode following Real Madrid's Champions League triumph over Juventus on Saturday.

As fans celebrating on the streets of Cardiff proudly sang "Somos los reyes de Europa (We are the kings of Europe)", a traditional team chant, it was only fitting that one of the dignitaries congratulating players in the changing rooms was Spain's former King Juan Carlos.

He said: "I don't see why we can't be in that company".

"He (Zidane) is the only one to win two consecutive Champions Leagues", added Perez.

"I don't think many players have won the Champions League in their home city where they were born, so it's a great memory to have".

"Now we have to enjoy all of this", he said.

"Nobody has won two Champions League twice in a row and we did it", Zidane said.

Gareth Bale has insisted that he is paying no attention to the speculation about his future after recent reports linking him with a possible summer transfer to Manchester United.

.

For Ronaldo it was a sensational finale to the season which must now end with him winning his fifth Ballon D'Or. That is what we worked on and that is how we scored three of our goals in the final.
