A man jumped into a moving vehicle and came to the rescue of a complete stranger who was having a seizure while driving.
Unbelievable dashcam footage shows a slow-moving auto running a red light and heading for trouble when another driver, Randy Tompkins, literally jumped into action.
Tompkins then jumps out of his own vehicle and dives through the open passengers side window and is able to put the auto in park. He put two fingers into the convulsing driver's mouth to prevent him from swallowing his tongue.
Dixon Police said due to Tompkins' quick action, the out-of-control auto didn't actually cause an accident.More news: No surprise: It's Cavs-Warriors in the NBA Finals yet again
An onlooker jumped head-first into an out-of-control vehicle on the road after he spotted the driver having seizure. Randy Tompkins was heading south and had to reverse his vehicle to keep from getting hit. The cops said they saw me jump in his window like Dukes of Hazzard-it was insane.
The statement ended with the Dixon Police thanking the Good Samaritan "for his heroism and for coming to a complete stranger's aid today!" "This individual assessed the situation and thought he could do it safely, and it was definitely a very heroic act on his part".
In a freakish coincidence, this incident took place one year to the day that Tompkins wife was in a disgusting vehicle crash that left her with 15 broken bones, Saukvalley notes. "I just did it so fast that I didn't even think about it, I just did it". Officers on patrol trailed the auto and turned on cruiser's emergency light. "A lot of people may have just gotten out their phones or just watched, but to see that and recognize that something wasn't right.it was pretty tremendous".
