MIAMI (AP) - Edinson Volquez has thrown the sixth no-hitter in Miami Marlins history, facing the minimum 27 batters and beating the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-0 on Saturday. Pinch hitters Daniel Descalso and Owings were also retired on third strikes.
Justin Bour went 2-for-4 to lead Miami's offense.
ST. LOUIS - Adam Wainwright hit a two-run homer off Brandon McCarthy and pitched six innings of four-hit ball, leading St. Louis over Los Angeles for a four-game split. Entering Saturday with a.163 batting average, Schwarber was hitting ninth.
