Edelman has been with the Patriots since being drafted by the organization in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft.
Edelman is set to make just $3 million in base salary in 2017, which is an incredible value for the type of production he puts out. The Patriots also signed veteran receiver Andrew Hawkins in free agency, and added another playmaking tight end, Dwayne Allen, through a trade.
In Super Bowl LI, Edelman only had five catches for 87 yards, but one of those five receptions was an unbelievable catch you had to see to believe. He's not the most skilled player on the New England roster, but Edelman is one of the more impactful players. Say he gets injured this season, his stock would drop considerably, as who would want to pay a 32-year-old free agent receiver coming off an injury who is already injury-prone as it is?
In eight years, Edelman caught 425 passes for 4,540 yards and 24 touchdowns, per NFL.com.
