So, in addition to introducing a new female superhero to the MCU, Captain Marvel sounds like it could supply an origin story for that famous eyepatch.

Speaking of Fury, we've known for a while that Samuel L. Jackson's S.H.I.E.L.D. head honcho will have a part to play in Captain Marvel, but the SDCC panel revealed a new detail about his role.

Captain Marvel and Ant-Man and The Wasp are early enough in development that no footage exists for either of them.

Marvel Studios made waves at last year's San Diego Comic-Con by revealing that Oscar Award-winning actress Brie Larson would be stepping into the cosmic shoes of Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel, in the iconic hero's forthcoming eponymous film.

Captain Marvel is now scheduled for release in March 2019, so it'll probably be a while before we get any more teases about the contents of the film. What may be the biggest reveal, however, is that the shape shifting alien Skrulls are going to embody Danvers' big challenge and that she's going to be punching many of them in the face, if concept art is to be believed.

Galactic war is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and this time we're not talking about Thanos.

Also the fact that Captain Marvel is set in the 1990s raises a lot of question in the MCU. Or did something happen to Captain Marvel? If you're like me and never read comics growing up, Easter Eggs placed in a Marvel movie that hint at other events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are something to definitely look forward to in this movie. Also, since Captain Marvel is set to appear inAvengers: Infinity War, did she age? It seems that Marvel and Fox have engaged in a bit of back and forth behind the scenes though, which has ended up with the Skrulls entering the MCU.
