Nolito arrived in Spain on Sunday morning after his new club, Sevilla, announced last night that they had reached an agreement in principle to sign the 30-year-old from Manchester City. He will sign a three-year-old contract.
The expected sale of Nolito is a substantial financial loss for City, who signed him from Celta Vigo last summer for £13.8m.
Nolito will not go to the U.S. with City but instead head straight to Japan where he can link up with Eduardo Berizzo's men.
A return to Celta, who he had played for between 2013 and 2016, had been mooted, but he instead joins Sevilla, a side keen on him since the start of the transfer window and can offer UEFA Champions League football.More news: Saudi Bloc Slams Qatar But Stops Short of Imposing New Sanctions
The Spanish global arrived in Seville after both Spanish and English clubs reached an agreement on his transfer, reports Efe.
The Spaniard did not hide his desire to leave City when speaking to reporters in May.
Having been burnt previously by Sevilla on loans, Manchester City have been determined to get a permanent deal, even if that's at a reduced price.
"Up until December I was playing and was happy, but after those four months I've hardly played".
