With no victor from Wednesday night's drawing, the Powerball jackpot now stands at $286 million.
The winning Powerball jackpot winners for Wednesday, Aug. 2 were: 1, 16, 54, 63, 69 and the Powerball was 18.
The most recent big Mega Millions win - $536 million in July 2016 - was the third-largest in the game's history, and the seventh-largest in USA history. It was the most ever awarded to a single Mega Millions victor and the highest cash-value jackpot awarded to a single victor in a USA lottery.
Lottery players in NY and around the country will be chasing history this weekend as they purchase tickets for Mega Millions and Powerball for the chance to win more than $600 million combined. Mega Millions can be played in 44 states, Washington DC, and the US Virgin Islands.
The odds of matching five numbers are 1 in 11,688,054. Drawings are televised live at 10:59 p.m. on New York Lottery draw stations. Ticket's for Wednesday's drawing can be purchased until 9:50 p.m. that day.
The July 22 Powerball drawing produced one second-prize winning ticket that matched the first five numbers drawn.
