Samsung hasn't specified which Android OS version the flip phone runs on, but it'll probably be Nougat given its premium status. It can be also referred as Samsung 8 or flagship 8 as the company may just want to go with HMD Global style of naming the new Nokia Android phones.
Samsung hasn't made a big official announcement but a product page on its Chinese website lists the details of the device. Samsung called this flip phone, leader 8. The phone has been announced in China and it is unlikely that the company will be launching the phone in other global markets. It is powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. But in many Asian countries, people still prefer flip phones. It comes in Black colour.More news: Teen Driver Livestreamed Crash That Killed Her Little Sister: Cops
The Leader 8 sports vibrant 4.2-inch full HD AMOLED displays on both the inside and outside of the phone- so no matter how you're using it, there's always a screen to look at. It packs a 2,300 mAh battery with fast charging support. There is also a 5MP selfie snapper with f/1.9 aperture. The device has a 15.9 millimeter (0.62 inch) thickness and it weighs 235 grams (0.52 lbs).
As of this writing, it seems that the smartphone may not be available outside of China. The device's lights will be kept on thanks to the 2300mAh battery which is said to offer 238 hours of standby time and which will be charged via a wireless charging support. Some additional features on the Samsung Leader 8 include the proprietary Samsung Pay app, the Secure Folder feature, as well as a multi-function hotkey, which is user-configurable, and S Voice. Chances are rare if the new flip phone by Samsung will ever hit the Indian shores.
