Shinsuke Nakamura beat John Cena to become the No.1 contender and booked his place against Jinder Mahal at Summerslam 2017. Both of these WWE superstars were involved in a very intensive fight and at the end of the match, it was AJ Styles who came out as the victor, allowing AJ styles to retain his United States title.
Publicized as the "Fantasy coordinate" by SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan a week ago, the match was a touch disappointing however without a doubt had its minutes that would make the wrestling fans welcome the two stars. Nakamura will now face WWE Champion Jinder Mahal at Summer Slam.
Also on Smackdown Live, United States Champion AJ Styles defended his title against Kevin Owens who was invoking his rematch clause after he lost the belt to The Phenomenal One last week in a Triple Threat match that also featured Chris Jericho.

Cena congratulated Jinder on getting into better shape and retaining the WWE Title at Battleground before challenging him to a match for the title at Summerslam.
Tuesday night will mark Owens' official rematch for the belt and should his efforts prove unsuccessful, the two will likely find themselves in new feuds heading into the SummerSlam pay-per-view on August 20. The King of Strong Style and the Cenation leader put on a bout for the ages, with Cena looking set to challenge Mahal when he landed the Attitude Adjustment on Nakamura.
The Lone Wolf soon had the upper hand and was about to smash John Cena through the announcers' table.
