I honestly didn't think there could be a way Trump could embarrass us just by watching a solar eclipse.
Donald Trump has been caught looking at the solar eclipse without special glasses, despite all expert advice saying this practice is unsafe. Barron, in a white polo, wore his protective sunglasses too.
But at one point, Trump was seen looking directly up at the sun without wearing his protective glasses.
According to the White House pool report, an aide shouted "don't look" at the president as he gestured toward the sun, McClatchy news reported. It is unclear if he looked directly at the sun.
But despite warning from media outlets, scientists and others, the president looked directly into the sun for a brief second.More news: Huawei Mate 10's Bezel-less Display Looks Gorgeous in 3D Renders
The White House announced Saturday that the Trumps would not participate in the December 3 event in Washington, D.C.to avoid "political distraction".
From a balcony at the White House, President Donald Trump did it his own way - marveling briefly a few times the astronomical phenomenon sans shades after using them for his initial viewing.
"The only safe way to look directly at the uneclipsed or partially eclipsed sun is through special-purpose solar filters, such as "eclipse glasses" or hand-held solar viewers".
The president will address the nation tonight at 9 p.m.
