The 14th-ranked Nebraska volleyball team handed No. 2 Penn State its first sweep in Rec Hall in 14 years as the Huskers upset the previously unbeaten Nittany Lions on Friday night, 26-24, 25-19, 25-20, in front of a crowd of 3,763.

IN head coach Tom Allen praised Penn State's Trace McSorley and Saquon Barkley on Monday, saying, "There's not a quarterback/tailback combination in the country right now that's playing at a higher level".

Although Penn State's 10-game streak of scoring 30 plus points came to an end, it wasn't for a lack of being able to move the ball.

It was one of the grittier efforts by the Hawkeyes in some time.

How stinkin' good is Josey Jewell? Albrecht had a career-high 19 kills on.400 hitting and added six digs and four blocks. He also recorded three tackles for a loss, intercepted a pass and returned it 33 yards to set up Iowa's first score, broke up two additional passes and recovered a fumble. 2017 has seen Michigan State start 2-0, though the wins have come against Bowling Green and a PJ Fleck-less Western Michigan in two very unauthoritative wins. The discrepancy in rushing yards was astounding, as PSU had 295 to Iowa's 82. Now, he's helping starter Trace McSorley any way he can.

Penn State junior running back Saquon Barkley has captured his second Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award this season for his record-breaking performance during a 21-19 victory over Iowa. This play by Barkley would loom large because he once again showed the ability to tack on offensive yards nearly out of nowhere.

It may shock some of you who think I'm always looking for the negative stuff when it comes to the Lions. "It's one of those deals ..."

Down 27-14 in the fourth quarter, Florida (2-1, 2-0) got within a touchdown on Brandon Powell's 6-yard TD run with 7:58 left.

That said, they have allowed 150 or more rushing yards in each of the last two games, which is one thing against Pittsburgh, but completely another against Georgia State.

Iowa had won its last three home games against top five teams, so obviously Kinnick Stadium is a tough place to play.

He lauded Iowa's defense for limiting Penn State from big plays - something the Hawkeyes were not able to do in 2016 - and for forcing the Nittany Lions to adjust on the fly, even while they were on the field for almost 2/3 of the game. The sophomore's passes early on seemed adrenaline-filled, a byproduct of the moment, and were initially too hot to handle. On a side note, though, McSorley punting the ball after taking a knee to end the game was uncalled for.

He'll be better in the future because of the experience he gained against an aggressive Penn State defense which tested Stanley physically and mentally.

Brincks, who primarily played special teams prior to the season, has been the backup behind Anthony Nelson. He also ran 17 times for 61 yards, battling through some inconsistency to hit the biggest pass of the night ... and one of the biggest of his incredible career.

Nittany Lions coach James Franklin will bring a talent-rich team to Iowa tonight, pairing an aggressive defense with an offense led by a veteran quarterback in Trace McSorley and a pair of preseason all-Americans in running back Saquon Barkley and tight end Mike Gesicki.
