Ivana Trump, President Donald Trump's ex-wife, says she was offered the chance to become United States ambassador to the Czech Republic but turned it down in order to protect her globetrotting "perfect life".
"I don't want to call him there", she told reporter Amy Robach, "because Melania is there and I don't want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I'm basically Trump first wife, OK?" she said laughing.
The true first lady responded with a sharply-worded statement to CNN from her communications director, Stephanie Grisham.
Trump said the president is still a big part of her life and that they speak 'maybe once a week, ' and that he is 'still asking me for advice'. "Unfortunately only attention seeking and self-serving noise".
While blaming Maples for the collapse of her first marriage, she said she's "not sure" if she blames Donald for the affair because she claims he could have picked any girl he wanted.
New book from Donald Trump's first spouse pulls back the window ornament on a turbulent time of the president's life, including the chaotic separation that was sprinkled crosswise over New York's sensationalist newspapers for a considerable length of time.More news: Saints' second half propels them to shutout win vs. Dolphins
She writes: 'I can only shake my head at how it insane it was, I couldn't turn on the television without hearing my name'.
Ivana Trump seems contentment in her life, which was not predictable in her infamous split in 1992 when she split from current U.S. President.
She then implied that Maples gets the blame for her marriage ending. Absolutely. But I would not really like to be there. "It's better her than me. I don't mind immigrants and the wall because you have to protect your borders", she said.
She added that because she was the president's first wife, she is, in fact, the real first lady.
She said: 'This young blonde woman approached me out of the blue and said "I'm Marla and I love your husband". I like to do what I want to do, go wherever I want to go with whomever I want to go. Asked whether she ever talked to the President about it, she said, "Not really, no".
"Donald during the divorce was brutal".
