The Feud Between Trump and Corker Is Puzzling to Washington Insiders

Corker told reporters that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly "are those people that help separate our country from chaos".

Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee, engaged in a bitter Twitter feud with President Donald Trump, and other establishment Republicans insist that the tax cuts not increase the federal budget deficit. "Was made to sound a fool, and that's what I'm dealing with".

Corker is a member of Trump's party and as chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he's a leading voice on foreign policy issues.

Not to be denied, Corker immediately responded that the Trump White House was nothing more than a daycare center for adults.

- If Tennessee Senator Bob Corker thought retirement might be the easy way out of Washington, he may have to reconsider his rather surprising decision.

Corker warned that Trump was viewed as a threat to the United States national security and global stability warning that he could prompt "World War III".

The feud between Corker and Trump had escalated this weekend when the President tweeted that the outgoing senator "begged" for his endorsement before declining to run for re-election. "We're on the right path right now, believe me".

"I understand we're on the record", Corker said at the beginning of the phone call with The New York Times. "Didn't have the guts to run!"

So who IS Bob Corker? He added, "I know [Trump] has hurt, in several instances, he's hurt us as it relates to negotiations that were underway by tweeting things out".

Trump later gave Corker grief about the comment during a meeting in the Oval Office, according to a Republican congressional official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the private conversations. Steve Bannon, Trump's former chief strategist who was let go from the White House earlier this year, called on the senator to resign in response.
