A few months ago, the world learned that the next Doctor Who, the thirteenth such iteration of the character, would be played by a woman for the very first time.
It's a quirky ensemble and one that will fit right in with her predecessors' outfit of choice.More news: Tourists to be banned from climbing Australia's most famous attraction
This costume is uniquely her own, a true departure from the modern series' suits in muted colors. So when Jodie Whittaker makes her debut as the Thirteenth Doctor next month, she'll literally be wearing Peter Capaldi's pants.
It shows the Doctor dressed in a long coat, striped T-Shirt and high-waisted pants.
Initially, Doctors were said to only have 13 possible regeneratons - meaning Whittaker would be the last. "New look!" the official Doctor Who Twitter account wrote, with BBC America's Doctor Who account posting an identical tweet. We're always hungry for that first peek of how our new Doctor will look and if any past incarnations had some influence to the feel. The first ever female titular character of the show will make her debut on the Christmas Special episode when Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi regenerates into Thirteen.
Clearly, Whittaker and the Doctor Who showrunners are embracing change! Joining Whittaker in the new season are Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill.
