Ostrem was arrested Thursday, about 14 hours after the shooting inside a Walmart in the Denver suburb of Thornton.
Court records also show Ostrem filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2015. He was identified after investigators scoured "lots of hours" of surveillance video and a law enforcement database, according to Avila. Thornton police said a nationwide extradition homicide warrant has been issued for the 47-year-old Ostrem. The victims were in the same area of the store, but it is unclear if they knew each other.
A motive for the shooting was unknown.

Neighbors of the man suspected of fatally shooting three people at a suburban Denver Walmart say he was unfriendly and occasionally hostile toward them. Thornton Police said they are now reviewing security camera footage and interviewing witnesses "for assistance with suspect (s) description/info".
Thornton Police say two men were killed and a woman later died at the hospital after a lone gunman opened fire near the front of the Walmart at 9901 N. Grant St.
The shooting appears random and there are no indications that it was an act of terror, Thornton police spokesman Victor Avila said.
"We had to discern what exactly was going on, whether that was a suspect or a citizen wondering what was going on and concerned by the sound of gunshots", Avila said.
"The employees started screaming and the customers started screaming" as people began to flee the store, he recounted.
