Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed during the Sony PlayStation Showcase at Paris Games Week that a beta for Monster Hunter: World™ will be available exclusively for PlayStation Plus users starting 9 - 12 December, 2017. Players will be able to control Horizon's heroine Aloy as a hunter in Capcom's action game, allowing fans to control the machine hunter in a brand new adventure sooner than anyone thought.
The beta version will require players to hunt for "a Great Jagras and an Anjanath in the Ancient Forest, and a Barroth in the Wildspire Waste", according to Sony's post. Players can get this armor set for no extra charge, but they will have to earn it through an Event Quest first.More news: Harvey Weinstein scandal: New accuser files first lawsuit against Weinstein Company
The new trailer revealed at the conference also featured new footage focused on new reptilian monsters living underground, a new environment joining other previously seen as deserts and jungles. Equipping the full armor set will make your character look just like Aloy, facial likeness and all.
Aloy will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 version of the game, but the beta will be accessible to players across platforms. It will also include Palico armor that makes the player's Palico look like one of the machines from Horizon: Zero Dawn. With the new online drop-in functionality, solo players can hail for assistance from the worldwide group during quests when their opponents are too daunting to take on single-handedly.
