According to Neil McLeman of the Daily Mirror, Atletico have been left angered by the manner in which their La Liga rivals have courted their star man, so much so that they have made a decision to lodge a complaint to Federation Internationale de Football Association about Barcelona's conduct.
"Griezmann has a long contract and this cannot be permitted, while the club also considers it could affect the competition [La Liga] in which Barcelona are now top and Atletico are second".
When it is a big outfit like Barcelona that is doing the hunting, irrespective of who the player in question might be, the speculation becomes a high profile one.
Griezmann has also been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United but Catalan media reported at the weekend that Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu had met with the Frenchman's family.More news: Ukraine police recapture ex-Georgia President Mikheil Saakashvili

And a FIFA spokesman said: "We can confirm that we have received a complaint from Atletico de Madrid". "Maybe there's been a meeting and things have advanced, although I don't know". That's what the release clauses are for.
However, in this case declarations by Barca's Director of Institutional Relations, Guillermo Amor on Spanish TV on Sunday night that the club had been in contact with Amor's representatives over a possible move to the Camp Nou Stadium, clearly angered Atletico, who are now in second place behind Barca in the Liga Santander.
"He is a player of Atletico until June 30 and it's another matter if he leaves or not".
