If you don't want Instagram to save your stories, select the three vertical dots from the archive page, go to Settings, and deselect "Save to Archive". There's no limit to the number of highlights you can add.
Stories Archive gives you a chance to add your stories to the Archive include. Basically, if you use Stories a lot, you can make compilation Stories from past videos you have shared. The Highlights will stay there permanently on your profile unless you remove it. Then select clips from your archived stories, choose a thumbnail for your story, and give it a name (for example, "puppers" from the previous example).
According to Instagram, "Over the past year, Instagram Stories has become a key part of how you express yourself - but there hasn't been an easy way to keep your stories around for more than 24 hours". As your Stories will now be archived, you will be able to watch them again.
Stories, which traditionally disappear forever after 24 hours, will now be saved to a private part of your profile once they disappear from public view. Instagram has today announced the launch of two new features that let users hold on to their favorite moments from Instagram Stories and share them in ways that helps them better themselves better.
From there, you can re-live your favourite stories (#memories). This lets users revisit and reuse their old video clips.
Each Stories Highlight can be edited and removed by the user. The new component will be accessible from Instagram rendition 25 on Android and iOS. Under the stories archives section, all your stories will appear in a grid, with the recent stories appearing at the bottom. If you don't like it, you can turn off auto-archiving. That meant it could feel like you were spamming friends if you wanted to share niche content, deterring content creation.
