There had been speculation that Brendan would not return to the series following backstage clashes with the judges.
Earlier, Brendan had revealed that he was in "shock" after hearing that he'd been booted off the BBC dancing programme. I love that side of the show.
The 41-year-old joked to ITV show Lorraine: "Nobody will argue with the judges - I don't know who I'm going to hand the baton to".
Brendan told Lorraine he would like to continue on Strictly if he had the choice.

Fans of the show expressed their disappointment on social media, and Hawkins paid tribute to Cole's time on the series.
Brendan said: "I've always known this day would come".
"It's an editorial decision. I still can't believe it - I've watched the show for years, but there'll be a sparkle less for me from now on".
The dancer's most recent partner on the show, Charlotte Hawkins, has tweeted how sad she is about the decision. "I would have preferred to have made the decision myself, but maybe I would never have made it".
"The last five years I haven't really made much of a noise on the show with my partners, they haven't been able to do what I've wanted to do. I love them to bits". Poor man was in bits, give him a big hug from us all when you next see him. No disrespect to them.
