As Robert Hollie moved the body of his ex-wife out of the house they once shared as a married couple, along a darkened street of modest homes facing Three Mile Creek in North West Mobile, he probably didn't think he would kill again that night.
At least one officer fired shots back at Hollie, AL.com reported.
Authorities have not said how Hollie died. He was taken to University of South Alabama Medical Center after being shot around 10 p.m., and he died at the hospital about 3 a.m.
Mobile Police Chief Lawrence Baptiste, who had stood next to Stimpson at the press conference, commented on Billa's excellent record after he joined the department in January 2016, and asked that people not forget the Poellnitz family. She believes her mother's ex-husband, Robert Hollie is the person barricaded in the home at 2052 Avondale Court.More news: Violence in Afghanistan Killed, Wounded 10000 People in 2017
The website went on to add that "according to his commanding officer, Billa has great attention to detail skills and shows commitment daily to providing a professional level of law enforcement service to the city of Mobile".
The shooting occurred as the SWAT team was on the scene of a man who had barricaded himself in a home.
'He didn't love my momma, ' she said. "That's my ideal of good policing and I feel like that's what the chief is working toward".
In July 2017, Billa was interviewed by WALA-TV for a segment on the police force's relationship with community members.
