London-Middlesex and surrounding counties are under freezing rain warnings.

A brief period of snow may precede the freezing rain, but any snowfall accumulations are expected to be minimal.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates icy buildup on surfaces.

A combination of rain, freezing rain and snow could make for slippery surfaces and traffic disruptions in southwest and central Quebec starting Sunday afternoon and continuing into the evening.

Nonetheless, Environment Canada's statement warns of icy conditions outdoors throughout the day, and advises drivers to slow down when on the road in slippery conditions. The freezing rain will likely continue into the evening, with a total accumulation of a few millimetres possible.

680 NEWS meteorologist Harold Hosein says roughly 5 centimetres of snow is expected in Toronto and the GTA on Saturday.
