Greitens' attorney, Edward Dowd, has filed a motion to dismiss the charges, claiming that the woman was aware that Greitens was taking the photo, and that it was part of a consensual relationship.
A message left for Greitens' press office was not immediately returned, and a spokeswoman for his attorneys said they had no comment. "Without additional facts and information from the Governor, the meeting was not necessary", Ryan said.

The Missouri House is launching an investigation into allegations that Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens used a naked picture to threaten blackmail against a woman with whom he carried out a 2015 affair.
Last month, Greitens admitted to having the extramarital affair but denied accusations that he blackmailed his mistress with revenge porn.

Sen. Gary Romine, a Republican from Farmington, has clashed with the governor on a number of issues, including Greitens' move previous year to have a reconfigured state Board of Education fire Education Commissioner Margie Vandeven.
One bone Greitens' defense team has to pick with the indictment is the notion that the woman "would have a reasonable expectation of privacy" while allegedly bound to exercise equipment in the basement of Greitens' home, which she told her ex-husband she entered on her own volition.
While Dowd is working on Greitens' behalf, his law firm has hired Clout Public Affairs as a consultant.
House Speaker Todd Richardson issued a statement Thursday with other House leaders saying they "will carefully examine the facts contained in the indictment and answer the question as to whether or not the governor can lead our state while a felony case moves forward".

Republican Sen. Caleb Rowden of Columbia said on Twitter that he was "disgusted to learn" a grand jury found sufficient evidence to indict the Republican governor on a charge of felony invasion of privacy.
