Marvel's Black Panther is now the highest-grossing superhero movie of all time in North America.
Marvel's latest has grossed $630.9 million in its sixth week of release, topping the $623 million The Avengers made in 2012, according to Box Office Mojo. These numbers make Black Panther the number three superhero film of all time at the box office worldwide. Box office analysts who spoke with TheWrap project the highly anticipated "Avengers: Infinity War" to gross at least $700 million domestic. This has propelled "Black Panther" to become the world's third-biggest superhero movie ever, surpassing "Iron Man 3 ($1.214 billion) to claim the spot".
However, when adjusted for inflation, Black Panther is the fourth-highest grossing superhero film in the USA, trailing The Avengers, The Dark Knight, and Spider-Man.
However, Black Panther still has to compete with the likes of Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron in terms of global box office. Shortly after, it quickly passed the $1 billion mark.

"Black Panther" isn't expected to hold this record for long, however. The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron are now the top two, with $1.5 billion and $1.4 billion, respectively.
Ryan Coogler's film is also the best-reviewed film of the 18-movie series, with a 97% rating on review aggregator, Rotten Tomatoes.
