Talking to reporters after her meeting with the NCP chief, the West Bengal Chief Minister said, "when political leaders meet, they do discuss politics".
The Trinamool leader is also likely to visit Parliament House and meet "her old colleagues, party MPs and leaders of other political parties", a senior Trinamool leader had said on Monday.
On whether she would be meeting UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi during her visit to New Delhi, the chief minister said, "She is hospitalised".

Reports say Mamata also met DMK leader K Kanimozhi and K Kavitha, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
She asserted that all opposition parties should work together to oust the BJP.
All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Banerjee also met Shiv Sena parliamentarian Sanjay Raut, later on Tuesday.
"People are against the BJP".
"Will certainly go if they (Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav) call us to Lucknow", she said. She is expected to meet Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday. "We should help the parties where they are strong", she said. If in Uttar Pradesh, the Mayawati-Akhilesh Yadav combine is strong, they should work together.
The TDP has recently ended its four-year alliance with the BJP and announced its exit from NDA over its demand for special status for Andhra Pradesh.
Asked if other leaders agreed with her, she suggested that everyone agreed that this is how the opposition should go about prepping for the 2019 elections to minimise the division of anti-BJP votes.
