King's Row Uprising will begin on April 10, according to a teaser post that Blizzard dropped on Overwatch's social media. The city was heavily damaged in the attack, and Overwatch, going against orders, sent in an elite team to deal with the uprising.
The first season of the Overwatch Open Division saw thousands of teams around the world take part, and numerous current crop of Contenders teams in various regions did in fact begin their journey here.
This is the latest event since the Chinese Lunar Year festivities went down in February with the ever popular Capture the Flag mode and unique gear to earn.
However, that may not be entirely true.More news: Catalonia ex-leader Carles Puigdemont detained in Germany
Overwatch's Uprising event will be returning for another round next month.
Blizzard explains that Uprising "turns back the clock, giving you the chance to relive a pivotal moment in Overwatch history".
So far, it's unclear if the event will be exactly the same as the previous year. It looks like it'll be Blackwatch's turn to take center stage, in an event that takes place before last year's Uprising. You can see a brief teaser video in the tweet below. "Uprising" is a major event in the game's lore as it depicts the team's liberation of Kingsrow from a heinous attack by the Omnix terrorist organization called Null Sector. Blackwatch characters and story elements might also be included, after some eagle eyed fans noticed a glitch at 00:13 that changes the file to Classified, the realm in which Blackwatch operates. It's hard to see the name of the file, but one can only assume it's something top secret; i.e, Blackwatch.
Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
