The nominations are set for Tuesday morning, co-hosted by "Hamilton" alum Leslie Odom Jr. and Katharine McPhee, now starring in "Waitress". Disney's Frozen eked out a Best Musical nod in a race with sparse competition, but was largely left out in the cold with just three nominations (and none for its leading ladies).
Park and Louderman are joined on the cast of "Mean Girls" by UM School of Music, Theatre & Dance alum Erika Henningsen, who was cast to play the role of Cady Heron, the musical's protagonist, which was portrayed by Lindsey Lohan in the popular 2004 film.
Top play nominees may include "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child", "The Children", "Meteor Shower", "Farinelli and the King" and "Junk".
Other nominations also went to three quasi-queer musicals: the My Fair Lady revival, which has a priggish male couple at its heart; Summer: The Donna Summer Musical about the legendary disco diva; and the don't-need-a-prince sisterly duo in the stage adaptation of Disney's Frozen.
